National Park Seminary represents a unique opportunity to reactivate an historic treasure. Envisioned in partnership between developers The Alexander Company and EYA, Montgomery County and local preservation group Save Our Seminary, the redevelopment will create a community with housing options for people at various income levels and stages of life. National Park Seminary will be a community that has all the benefits of a modern neighborhood, as well as unparalleled tranquility and enchantment.
The historic campus consists of 23 buildings that date from 1887 to 1927. The historic homes will revive the historic aspects of each building’s exterior, maintain many of the hallmark interior features and add modern comforts to the interiors. Many amenities will come from the rehabilitation of captivating features original to National Park Seminary, including the Ballroom for community use, restoration and maintenance of the glen and improved pedestrian linkages to the Forest Glen Metro-rail station and adjacent Rock Creek Park.
